Trip Itinerary

Womxn's Rock and Yoga Camp - Day 1 - Meet your guide in Bass Lake, CA Womxn's Rock and Yoga Camp - Day 1 - Meet your guide in Bass Lake, CA

Meet your guides at the Pines Resort Bakery in Bass Lake between 2-3pm. After a short meet and greet, follow your guides up to the campground in the Sierra National Forest, where you will settle into camp, do some yoga, followed by a “Ground School”, where the basics of belaying will be reviewed, as well as other safety considerations. Afterwards, enjoy a freshly made dinner and get to know your guides and other participants around the campfire.

Womxn's Rock and Yoga Camp - Day 2 - From horizontal to vertical practice Womxn's Rock and Yoga Camp - Day 2 - From horizontal to vertical practice

We’ll begin the day with a morning yoga practice, followed by breakfast and packing a lunch to bring to the climbing site. A short drive through the forest takes us to the crag (climbing site) where we will start integrating concepts of yoga such as balance and breathwork into our climbing. Both of these practices require focus, poise, awareness of body and breath, and are a perfect compliment. Your guides will enrich the experience with yoga and climbing instruction throughout the workshop. After climbing, there will be free time to unwind however you like, followed by dinner and a campfire with an evening program.

Womxn's Rock and Yoga Camp - Day 3 - Stillness in motion Womxn's Rock and Yoga Camp - Day 3 - Stillness in motion

Building on themes introduced the day prior, we will continue to find our center, whether in our yoga practice or out on the rock. Some themes that might be explored include: Preparing for/Cooling down from climbing with Pawanmuktasana (joint rotation) primary series; Stilling the mind in fear, discomfort, or hyper stimulation with Pranayama (breath work), Meditation — overcome personal limitation in climbing; -Develop holistic and balanced practices of both asana and climbing; skills that extend beyond the mat/off the wall. The idea is that what we do in our practice translates into each waking moment of our lives.

Womxn's Rock and Yoga Camp - Day 4 - Bringing it all home Womxn's Rock and Yoga Camp - Day 4 - Bringing it all home

On our final day together we will continue with our morning yoga practice and do a final morning session on the rock, hopefully finding new strength and poise resulting from the focused integration of these two physical practices of mindfulness. The workshop will end with lunch and a closing circle where we can all share our highlights and reflect on what we have learned together. If you are flying in and out Fresno, don’t book any return flights before 4pm.
