Perched at over 8,500 in elevation, the Yosemite high country is the perfect place to spend time during the summer months of July-Sept. Hike through this scenic, yet lesser known part of the park, full of wildflower-strewn meadows, pristine lakes, and granite domes under wide open skies. This area has fewer crowds, pristine lakes and streams for swimming, and excellent opportunities for high-mountain photography. Hikes to choose from include Lyell Canyon, Cathedral Peak, Mt. Hoffman, and Lembert Dome.
